Igor Sikorsky Interview 1940s
Description: After emigrating to the U.S. in 1919, he became a leading aircraft designer. In 1939, Sikorsky built the VS-300, the first practical single-rotor helicopter in the U.S., which laid the foundation for modern helicopter design. By 1942, his R-4 became the first helicopter to be mass-produced and used operationally by the U.S. military.
