Description: The 1964 World's Fair, officially known as the New York World's Fair, was a world's fair held at Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in Queens, New York City, from April 22 to October 18, 1964. The theme of the fair was "Peace Through Understanding" and it was intended to showcase the latest technological and cultural advancements from around the world.
The fair was attended by over 51 million people, and featured exhibits from various countries, including the United States, the Soviet Union, and Japan. Some of the notable exhibits included Ford's "Magic Skyway" pavilion, which featured a moving sidewalk that took visitors through a journey through time, and the General Electric pavilion, which featured a large-scale model of the then-under-construction World Trade Center. The fair also featured the first "it's a small world" attraction, which later become a popular ride at Disneyland. The iconic symbol of the fair was the Unisphere, a 12-story steel globe.
