Kelly Johnson SR-71 Interview
Description: Kelly Johnson was an American aeronautical and systems engineer. He is recognized for his contributions to a series of important aircraft designs, most notably the Lockheed U-2 and SR-71 Blackbird.
The SR-71 Blackbird was first flown in 1964 and quickly established itself as one of the fastest and most advanced aircraft in the world. The aircraft was capable of reaching speeds of over 2,000 miles per hour and could fly at altitudes of over 85,000 feet, making it invulnerable to most anti-aircraft missiles. The SR-71 was used by the U.S. Air Force for reconnaissance missions and was also used by NASA for high-altitude research.
